AutoTech 2027 runs June 22-23 at the Vibe Credit Union Showplace in Novi, Michigan, under the theme “Monetizing the Connected Car.” Informa runs the event as a two-day conference and expo covering software-defined vehicles, connected-car data and services, AI in the vehicle, electrification and autonomous systems. The audience is automakers, Tier 1 suppliers and technology providers.
Why it matters for the data layer
Connected-vehicle data business models get argued out in metro Detroit, and this is one of the venues where that happens in public. The questions on the table are who owns vehicle-generated data, what gets exposed through which APIs, and on what terms OEM data reaches a third party.
That sits upstream of the probe-data and roadway-condition feeds agencies buy. By the time a DOT is evaluating a speed or road-weather product, the terms were set in rooms like this one, between OEM connected-services teams and the platform vendors reselling what they collect.
