The Canadian Urban Transit Association holds its national annual conference November 15-18 in Winnipeg, hosted with Winnipeg Transit. Committee meetings open the week on Sunday November 15, concurrent sessions, networking, and technical tours fill Monday, the full-day Transit Show runs Tuesday November 17 at the RBC Convention Centre Winnipeg, and further sessions close things out on Wednesday. Session themes cover operations, workforce, innovation, infrastructure, funding, and customer experience.
Why it matters for the data layer
Canadian agency practice on fare systems, open data, and vehicle technology gets set in this room, and the vendor bench overlaps heavily with the US market. A supplier roadmap or a standards question you are tracking south of the border is likely to be discussed here first, in front of a different set of buyers.
This is a non-US event, so treat it as remote or partner coverage. The Transit Show floor covers much the same ground as APTA’s expo, at a different point in the year, which makes it a useful second read on what the technology providers are actually shipping.
