2026 IBTTA Global Tolling Summit
IBTTA's international tolling meeting in Montreal, on emerging technology, policy and user-financed road projects worldwide.
IBTTA holds its Global Tolling Summit September 24-26 in Montreal. The association describes it as a gathering of leaders and practitioners on emerging technologies, policy trends, mobility strategies and global projects across tolling and user-financed transportation. An optional pre-summit technical tour with 407 ETR in Toronto runs beforehand, registered separately from the summit itself.
Why it matters for the data layer
Tolling arguments are specification arguments. Transaction record formats, license plate data handling and the exchange of toll account information between agencies are the substance of interoperability work, and a cross-border venue sets North American account-based practice next to European and Asian free-flow systems that solved the same problems differently.
This is a non-US event, so treat it as remote or partner coverage. The 407 ETR tour is worth watching for anyone tracking how a long-running all-electronic facility handles enforcement and account reconciliation, since that operator has more years of data on it than most.
