International Mobility Data Summit 2026

MobilityData's global gathering on GTFS, GBFS, and the standards behind transit and shared mobility.

The International Mobility Data Summit is run by MobilityData, the nonprofit that maintains GTFS and GBFS. The 2026 edition is September 22-23 at 265 Rue Saint-Jacques in Montréal: two days of panels, workshops, and hands-on sessions on how open data standards keep transit and shared mobility working across systems.

Why it matters for the data layer

If you work on the specs themselves, this is the room. GTFS and GBFS are open standards, and their change process runs on implementer feedback. A lot of that feedback gets aired here in person instead of in a GitHub thread. The program splits along the two feeds and the policy around them: schedule and real-time data quality under GTFS, shared-mobility feeds under GBFS, and a mobility-policy track that is new for 2026.

It draws a genuinely international crowd. MobilityData counts more than 190 participants from 18 countries at the prior edition. For anyone who publishes or consumes these feeds, the value is proximity to the people who edit the specs.
