The National Motor Freight Traffic Association runs its annual cybersecurity conference
September 29 to October 1 at the Marriott Long Beach Downtown in Long Beach, California.
NMFTA bills it as North America's premier cybersecurity event for the trucking industry and
the only one built specifically for the sector. The program covers cargo theft, telematics
security, AI, incident response, and hands-on training, and draws carrier IT and security
staff, CISOs and CTOs, shippers, 3PLs, brokers, OEMs, and security researchers.

## Why it matters for the data layer

NMFTA is the body behind freight classification and the digital LTL data standards work.
That makes this the room where freight data exchange and telematics security get argued by
the same people who write the formats, rather than by a security conference borrowing
trucking as a case study. If you integrate carrier or telematics feeds, the arguments here
end up in your interfaces.

Two practical notes. The event grew out of what NMFTA used to call its Digital Solutions
Conference, and the current event page has dropped that name, so anyone searching the old
