The fall 2026 Smart Cities Connect Conference & Expo runs September 22-24 at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center in National Harbor, Maryland, just outside Washington, DC. It is the larger, DC-area edition of the smart-cities event, co-located with TechConnect World.

Why it matters for the data layer

Like its spring counterpart, this is a smart-city event with a real mobility track, and the fall edition’s proximity to Washington tends to pull in more federal and policy attendance. The program runs four tracks: digital transformation, urban operations, smart mobility, and community engagement.

For the data layer, the smart-mobility track is the relevant one, covering autonomous vehicles, public transit, and transportation systems. The wider value is watching how mobility data fits into a city’s broader data and IoT stack. Cities generally attend at no cost, so the room skews toward actual municipal decision-makers.
