ThinkTransit is the transit-technology conference run by Trapeze Group and its sister company Vontas. The 2026 edition ran March 29 to April 1 at the Westin Boston Seaport District, hosted by the MBTA under the theme “Revolutionizing Transit.”
Why it matters for the data layer
ThinkTransit is a vendor-hosted event rather than an association meeting, so it reads as a focused look at one slice of the market: the scheduling, CAD/AVL, and operations software that Trapeze and Vontas sell into agencies, and how their customers are deploying it. That narrower frame is useful precisely because it is concrete.
For the data layer, the relevant threads are the operational ones: how agencies wire real-time vehicle data, scheduling, and rider information together. The event has concluded, but the session topics are a decent proxy for what mid-size transit IT shops are prioritizing this year.
