The Tennessee Public Transportation Association holds its statewide conference and expo October 25-28 in Franklin. The dates come off the association’s home page. Program, host agency and venue are not yet published, and there is no dedicated event page for the 2027 edition.
Why it matters for the data layer
Tennessee pairs a handful of mid-sized urban systems with a long rural tail, and the state association meeting is where both show up. That mix makes it a useful read on how state DOT funded small operators actually handle their data, their dispatch software and their fare technology, as opposed to how the vendor brochure says they do.
TDOT transit staff and the exhibiting vendors are in the room too, which is where the gap between what a small agency can operate and what it is being sold tends to surface.
