TransportationCamp New England 2026
New England's attendee-run transportation unconference, held Saturday October 17 at the MIT Stata Center in Cambridge.
TransportationCamp New England runs Saturday, October 17 at the MIT Stata Center on Vassar Street in Cambridge. A local volunteer committee organizes it, including the Boston chapter of Young Professionals in Transportation. Every session is proposed and led by the people who show up. The day is a welcome session, four breakout blocks, meals and a happy hour.
Why it matters for the data layer
An attendee-built session board is a decent instrument for reading what practitioners actually want to talk about. At this one, GTFS, real-time feeds, open data policy and tooling reliably make the board, because the room mixes transit agency staff with the app developers and engineers who consume their feeds. Those two groups rarely share a program anywhere else in New England.
The low cost matters more than it sounds. Agency staff without a conference budget can attend, which keeps the discussion closer to production problems than to procurement pitches.
