The Transportation Research Board Annual Meeting is the largest transportation research gathering in the world. The next edition, the 106th, runs January 10-14, 2027 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, DC. The 2026 meeting has already taken place.
Why it matters for the data layer
TRB is where the research that eventually becomes practice gets presented first, across every mode and thousands of sessions, workshops, and posters. For the data layer, it is the deepest single source of early work on transit data, traffic operations, safety analytics, and the methods behind them, often a year or more before the ideas show up in vendor products or agency RFPs.
